Nav program to use with wifi only iPad and external Bad-Elf gps accessory?

I have a wifi only iPad. I purchased the Bad-Elf gps unit and it works fine.
Has any one tried this setup with the Navigon or Magellan Roadmate apps.
There isn't information on how well they will actually work except the Bad-Elf website says they will see the gps accessory.
