Mine did exactly the same. I only bought it on Sunday!
Did any of the solutions offered in the thread work for you?
Hi Scifan, I meant I did exactly as Dave had done and that seemed to solve the problem.
Like the others, my iPad Air 2 (IOS10.2) has also suffered from sticking rotation. It has happened twice in the last fortnight, usually after a longish period of inactivity. A power-off and restart has cured it so far. Is anyone aware if Apple are looking into a cure?
The rotational sticking seems to be a common complaint - HERE is a discussion from about 6 months ago - for myself, my iPad Air 2 continues to get stuck in 'landscape mode' several times a week - I just use the ON-OFF switch for correction which has always worked. Interestingly, if I switch to an app w/ only portrait view the orientation is correct but reverts to the 'stuck' landscape view when stopping the app. Dave
Mine seems the opposite, as it gets stuck in Portrait mode. Which is a pain, as I generally browse in landscape mode when using safari!
Well, this morning and for the first time, my iPad was stuck in the Portrait mode also - checked the setting in the control panel and lock orientation was off; just turned off my device instead of doing a Restart - worked! So in the future, I'll give this quicker and simpler maneuver a try in the future. Dave
I know this thread is now 18 months old, and I’ve had no problems until today (1st June).
Yesterday I loaded iOS 11.4 onto my iPad Air2, and today it locked itself in portrait mode.
No amount of opening and closing would correct it, and finally a soft restart put it right.
Please tell me Apple haven’t been dumb enough to load an ‘old’ piece of code in the latest update!!!
I have an iPad Air 2 on iOS 11.4 and haven't seen that problem.
Thanks scifan57, let’s just hope it was a one-off then!
