How do you connect your iPad if you stay somewhere that requires an Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet?
(1) Call the front desk
(2) Ask for a list of nearby hotels.
(3) Call hotels until you find one with wifi.
(4) Move.
giradman said:Jsh1120 - great advice, but I'd probably check first to make sure that my hotel had Wi-Fi, preferably free!
Another option is the carry a small router that can connect to a cabled ethernet connection and provide 'protected' Wi-Fi access to a number of compatible devices - I own the Zuni router shown below (INFO HERE) - now I've only used this once (worked fine) because most of the places that I've stayed offer Wi-Fi in the rooms - this is likely a fading necessity? But I guess that if you needed to pay for a wired ethernet connection and had 'mates' in adjacent rooms, then one of these devices might provide multiple wireless connections on one charge (i.e. $ fee)?
Now the one place that I did use this router was in a hotel w/ just a wired paid ($10/day) option in the room - my wife & I were able to connect our iPad, VISTA computer, iPod, and Nook via Wi-Fi, so just another consideration -

Hi everyone I am new to the forum but I am looking for help. I am a new iPad 2 owner and I have to say that I am a little disappointed. The sales person I had at radio shack led me to believe that I would be able to use my iPad wireless anywhere I went by synching the iPad to my phone. However I can't seem to figure out what I need to do to be able to use this thing anywhere I go. Someone please help. Thank you in advance.
