IOS6 update to iPad2

Wow you guys really have much problems when upgrade your babies. Luckily my iPad 2 has worked like a charm since it was upgraded to iOS 6.0.0.

Hm, that's odd, even my shortest msgs have way more than three chars....

It may be that you are posting your comments within the quoted bracket of another. I have done that myself and have had that message pop up.

I think iOS 6 has caused some issues with this app. There appears to be a memory leak or something. Occasionally, the cursor goes to the left margin and stays there. If you attempt to send the message in this state, you get the short message warning.

It can't be just iOS 6 that's causing the problems with this app, my iPad 2, which is still on iOS 5.1.1 has exactly the same problems with the app as my iPad 3 which is on iOS 6.

iTunes Apple ID

I upgraded to iOS6, and ever since I did this there is a strangers Apple ID on my IPAD2. I have no idea who's Apple ID this is, and it keeps asking me for the password but I do not know whose ID this is. Does anyone know what happened and why this strange Apple ID would be linked to my IPAD2?

Thanks in advance,
John

The upgrade to IOS6 on my iPad went successfully through, after two failed attempts. It took about 45 minutes. The resolution seems to have been improved.

I am, however, having problems with App Store. The Search function does not produce any more than a box with links, which produce nothing but a blank page. Anyone else with this problem?

Since my last post, above, the Search function has come to life as it were. Someone must have been working on it!

Could be. Apple continually work on their sites, especially around the time of major new releases.

I don't know I'm fairly new to being an Ipad2 user I had no problem with the new IO6 download or using it. Also after the update "maps" stayed on my IPad or is this a different app in question.

The maps icon in your screenshot is the one used for the new Apple maps app, it's almost identical to that used by the Google maps app prior to iOS 6.

Ah ok thanks wasnt sure, still learning all this. I was just starting to get used to my new Ipad2 "a month old" when the Update/Upgrade came out so distinguishing old apps from new apps well I am not your guy for that LMAO
But as I said I am liking the new Update and IMO my Ipad seems to run faster or smoother. Maybe its nothing at all but to me it just seems to operate different but in a "Good Way"

Thanks for the info btw

So far my ios 6 upgrade is satisfactory.
I read complaints about missing Google maps and youtube app, and frankly I prefer that now I have a choice to remove or add these apps versus having them permanently on the ipad.
Reasons:
1) Google never came forward to stating what all the reasons are for them using manual intervention on searches even though they see no evil.
2) There is a conflict of interest when Google competes with Apple and yet they have permanent presence on the ios 5.0 and previous.
I'm not saying they have or haven't but Google could make ipad users' life difficult with an app access to your ipad. And who would get the blame Apple.
3) Competition means we will be served better in the future.
Regards.

Not happy with ios 6, it is not compatible with some websites i use, whereas ios 5.1.1 worked perfectly fine. Not happy apple

Just downloaded IOS6, successfully??, but now the iPad will not connect to my wireless router??

G'day Rocco, give this a go. Open the Settings App, tap General, tap Network then tap WiFi which should be "On". Tap the blue arrow next to the wireless router you are connected with and then tap Forget this Network.

Go back to WiFi and re-enter the network info you first provided to your Internet Service Provider when you set up your internet connection. If you can't remember, check with your ISP.

Was that a goer?
Regards,Andrew

I am also one of the many people who has carried out the iso6 update and so far not impressed that 2 off the main things ( YouTube & google maps) I used on my iPad have now gone. It does seem like every time I update an apple product I always end up being
Disappointed a iso update killed my iPhone 3GS as it reboots after a 5 minute phone call . Now my iPad from what I've just read here I
Can't go back to the old iso it was using.to make things worse the maps apple are using to replace the old ones are out of date . I find it Comical that apple can put a product that isn't finished it seems to me they have cutting corners and are using us to test and fix the problems .
