Go Flex satellite/internet

I have a wifi /3g ipad 2 and I was considering purchasing the satellite.It sounds great but I have read many horror stories. I have read that it is not possible to connect to the internet whilst connected to the satellite.Would it be possible to connect to the drive using wifi and the internet using 3g at the same time?
