Foursquare announced today via its blog that in celebration of the fact that Foursquare yesterday reached the milestone of 10,000,000 people, its popular iPhone app has just had an upgrade, which brings with it faster check ins, via a bigger “Check In†button, and an enhanced “Explore†tab that helps you to find Specials, as well as lots of other improvements. According to Foursquare, when you now tap Check In, the list of nearby places should load much, much faster than with the previous version. Foursquare says that it has also done some “pruning†with this update, getting rid of the standalone shout button because the fact that Foursquare is location-based makes it more logical to have shouts always belonging to a check in. Now, when you want to “shoutâ€, simply enter your text when checking in to a location, and Bob’s your (nearby) uncle!
