Dropbox is one of the most know cloud storage providers, with millions of iOS users across the world. That's why every new important update affects a big number of iPhone and iPad owners. Now, file-sharing application Dropbox has rolled out its iOS 8 upgrade, featuring a new Notification Center widget of its own, which allows for a quick overview of your files and recent changes.

Other improtant new features make it easier to manage folders, connect to Dropbox from other apps, and control permissions for end users if on Dropbox for Business or Dropbox Pro. Here's a breakdown of all the new features and options:

    • iOS 8 stability fixes
    • Restores automatic backup functionality for iOS 8 – See blog.dropbox.com (in English) for details
    • New for iOS 8 – See your recent activity in the Today view widget in the Notification Center, easily save files to Dropbox, and open your files directly from within other apps
    • General iOS 8 compatibility
    • Create and manage Shared Folders within the app, plus additional sharing controls for Pro and Dropbox for Business users
After applying this update, Dropbox can be added to the iOS 8 Notification Center, providing a view of your most important files, including both those associated with your business and your personal files. Thus, you can track newly added files, as well as changes like renamed files and edits.
