Adding photos to Photo Stream

I'm new to the Apple ecosystem and have a question on using Photo Stream. I installed iCloud Control Panel on my desktop pc and have no trouble copying/pasting individual photos to the Photo Stream Uploads folder which uploads these pictures fine.

The trouble I'm having is it won't let me add entire photo folders to the Upload folder surely you can do this?

I hope I'm doing something wrong because it would be a bummer if you aren't allowed to add keep your photos organized by folders.

Ok so nobody here knows but I did get a reply on the Apple Support forum and it's because IOS 5 doesn't support it but IOS 6 will...I hope he's right because in researching IOS 6 I've never seen it mentioned.

I don't think in-folder structure is allowed within the Upload folder. It is only individual photos which appear on your photo-stream. Otherwise it would be a folder-stream. I guess this is what apple would think about this. I hope, however, that we can see some positive changes with the upcoming iOS 6.
