Do you thing that a damage is done to the iOS and although I restored everything to factory setting the problem is still there?

I don't know what your problem is, but there is no way the jailbreak can "damage" a device or the OS. A restore can't leave traces behind from a previous installation...
It is much kore likely to be something related to your local network. What, I don't know.
The fact it happens on a freshly restored iPad tells me it is not the device at all...

Thankful for all your replies and interest guys. Problem still there.I hope that there is nothing wrong with my iPad and that this will eventually be fixed. I also hope that there was no actual problem on the iOS even if it was restored back to factory settings. It sucks though, being able to search videos,view comments, but can't play the videos.all other apps work fine.what's funny though, is the fact that it suddenly stopped working when it was jail broken. After the restore and reset the problem was the same. I am so disappointed...back to my laptop

Found your post by google search. Just because misery loves company thought I'd let you know that for the past few days my YouTube is exactly the same.

I live in Cyprus too. All I can guess is that it might have something to do with the power cut. May have tripped something in the wifi router or they've done something to save power. No idea but strange that we in the same bout at the same time.

My wife's iPads the same too. Just spent half the night resetting both o them etc. So think we best get on to Cyta. Let me know how you get on as my Greek is none existent.

Hi Badgerspot, I rang cyta and they told me that they don't have any problems with their servers. My pc connects to YouTube. It's only the iPads that have this problem!!!!! I also asked another friend of mine and he said the same thing!!!! It's either a problem with Cyta and maybe they haven't realized it yet or they are not telling us!!!
Unless it's a virus or something is wrong with our iPads! I hope not!

Yes,but we have restored to factory settings,unless jail breaking has affected the hardware or has cause terrible problems to the device that even a restore to factory settings cannot solve.if that's the case then please someone contact comex(any of the mods maybe) and ask him for his opinion on this matter please. There is nothing on a jailbroken iPad that a restore to stock firmware cannot fix.

When you restore an iPad, you are, in essence, completely wiping the operating system and then putting a new one on. It's as if you wiped the slate entirely clean...

Nothing gets left over - it's as if you took the iPad right out of the box on a new purchase.

Since you are having trouble with YouTube on a stock iPad - it's not (and wasn't) the jailbreak that's the problem.

Thanks for your opinion on this matter. I feel better knowing that the device is not harmed. My question though is that when i bought the ipad you tube was working fine. After the jailbreak it worked for a week and suddenly 2 days ago it stopped working. So after restoring it to its factory settings it still wouldnt work!!! That is why i am worried about the device and harm done by the jailbreak (maybe)!!? I rang my internet provider and more or less they made me sound that i am crazy, especially after i told them that my pc and mobile phone can play you tube videos whereas my ipad does not!! So i stopped bothering them. I really don't know what to do!! Maybe try to restore everything again? I tried everything...and i mean everything!!!

Have you tried loading vids from another wifi hotspot?
Have you restored router to factory defaults?
If you install....flixster or fandango from app store, both free,....can you watch movie trailers?

I tried from another wifi point : nor working
I restored router to original settings : not working
just installed fandango : i can watch clips !!!!!!!! Just installed flixster...clips work as well!!! Is there a chance the youtube app or i dont know anything that links you tube from my ipad to be corrupted?
Any ideas?

What type of router?.....I'm guessing linksys? Ive seen people complaining about your problem but once they bought a new non-linksys router....everything was back to normal.
