i read in a recent issue of ipad iphone users, that apple may have an announcement planned for the 24th of February to coincide with Steve jobs birthday. maybe this is an old rumor that already got debunked, but im still excited to see if they have something in store.

That rumor is ancient. Must be at least three weeks old.

Apple does whatever it dose when they choose. The media is addicted to guessing what they are going to do, like kids shaking their presents, and like kids their guesses are based more on wishful thinking than reality.

The current rumor is that there will be an announcement on the 7th of March, and that it will be about the iPad 3. The source is AllThingsD, which has a better record than most of being right, but it is still just a rumor.
