Ok, I've been away a while, but that hasn't stopped me listening to music.
A favourite band I've just discovered is Jagwar Ma, their new album Howlin is fantastic

First Listen: Jagwar Ma, 'Howlin' : NPR

scroll down and listen to each track, then get out there and buy the album, well worthy of a number one position.

It's great to see you back on forum, TheRambler. I've listened to some of the tracks. It's an interesting album which will grow on me. The first track does make you wonder what it's about, but the other tracks are, IMHO, far better at showcasing this Australian duo.

Chris Evans was interviewing Michael Viner. It was a great broadcast. Here is the YouTube link.....

This is one of the rare occasions when I listen to music in my native language.

Münchner Freiheit - Solang man Träume noch leben kann

That's a song I liked when I was a teenager.

Boston's Foreplay/Long Time. Must be a classic, 'cause its still a great song on a great album and doesn't sound dated a bit

''Drinking Again' - Jeff Beck / Rod Stewart -1968

This track was in the jukebox at the pool hall I frequented as a teen. Packed full of memories this one. Some nice some not so much. But good or bad, it's a piece of what I am today. Hope you enjoy it.

I knew I recognized this. In English it was "keeping the dream alive"

It isn't Etta and Dr. John, but this is an amazing version. Beth Hart is incredible, then Joe Bonamassa takes you to another place entirely. I could only wish for a club like this to go to.

After searching I found Etta and Dr. John's version (the one I know). This is from a BB King special early eighties or late seventies that I used to have on DVD.

As a bonus, the BB King special also introduced a young gentleman by the name of Stevie Vaughn, just not on this song.

I only know the German version. I'll look for the English one.

After listening to the English version, I have to say: this is one of the very rare occasions, when the German lyrics are better than the English. (Although the meaning is the same.)

Once again, The BBC has been treating us to programmes about great bands.

Last night there were 2 programmes about the Beach Boys on BBC3.

I managed to watch nearly all of the first programme which was made last year to celebrate 50 years of the Beach Boys. I remember well when Good Vibrations was released, and all of those surfing numbers.

Unfortunately I fell asleep and missed the Knebworth concert. So, BBC iPlayer will have to come to the rescue. Correction, cannot do as its not downloadable. However, the Dennis Wilson story can be downloaded :)

Back to English again, this time Bryan Adams - "Please, forgive me"

Followed by "Summer of 69"
