What's new

What are you guys doing right NOW??? ;)

If you delete those apps from iTunes itself, they will not reinstall. Just being on your Purchased list is not enough for iTunes to update and/or install them on your iPad. They have to be downloaded locally to the computer.

I occasionally have iTunes install apps on my iPad or iPhone. Usually these are new apps that I've installed on the other device (that are cross compatible). Once I delete them manually they tend to stay uninstalled through later syncs, though there have been exceptions.

The only time I've had problems with all apps being installed is when I've done something that makes iTunes think this is a new iPad. When that happens, the clean up can take a long while, since folders, screen layout, everything is gone in place of a massive number off apps more or less randomly distributed across lots of screens.

At that point, it's actually a bit easier to use the iTunes App sync section to uncheck, sync, then arrange the apps into at least a rough approximation of what I want, and sync again.

Or restore from a backup. That's even faster. The main reason for doing it the previous way is to take advantage of the mess to clean up my organization a bit, if that makes sense.

So I set them to remove (after the second blast install:o ) in iTunes on the computer, and they all removed before installing a third time (I also turned off autosync long enough to do this without having to repeat the removal over and over). I also had to re-set up my folders and put the correct apps back in them. I wonder, now, if my backup is corrupt too. I'll just delete my last one and do a fresh backup in the morning, I just finished a book and downloaded a couple more (one is a Tom Clancy) to read.

Brownies...ahhh yesss:)

Not so good for me today Johanna, had a bad lesson and had to 'park' a student in another room, was a bit upset and put him into the NQT's room but didn't get a chance to tell my manager and got shredded this morning for not telling them. Sometimes there really is no time to meet!!!! Meetings, tutor reg, teaching etc.... Just gets in the way!

Mine wasn't good as well, and I still have to "invent" tests for my fourth grades, for tomorrow! This will be a long working day.

It seems students in Europe today decided to misbehave.
