What's new

What are you guys doing right NOW??? ;)

I'm talking about the original 1956-59 Furies, I much prefer the 57-58 years of Furies, the model I am basing it on is a 1958 custom ordered Fury 2 door coupe hard top model, like this one

A Commodore 64 a day keeps the Apple II away!

Flipping Out I hate iOS 7 I have no sound except with head phones in and I can't figure it outI I hate this upgrade.

Have you tried pulling up the new Control Panel and making sure that the Mute (a bell a line through it) icon is not selected? For some reason this seemed to be on be default for some people right after the upgrade, or they activated it by mistake without realizing. I'm pretty sure Mute does not affect the headphones; but admit I have not actually tested this, yet.

Edit:

Confirmed. Mute does not affect the headphones.

Yes the mute is off I've done reset powered down. Played with settings for hours all sound functions only with head phones in.Iv'e plugged and unplugged them ...as well sound functions on speakers fine.

Hmm. I recommend trying a Reset All Settings under Settings > General > Reset. Won't erase anything or change account info, but you'll have to re-tweak a lot of your other settings. It will take you through a partial setup procedure, so don't panic when that happens.

Thanks Twerpoet I'll try

Another thought.

In the past, people have had problems with their devices getting stuck on the idea that the headphones were plugged in all the time. Most of the time this was caused by a bit of debris or dust in the microphone jack; a really hard thing to solve. The way to tell is when you are turning up/down the volume the word 'headphones' will appear in the speaker icon that shows in the middle of the screen.

Things that fixed it, generally just plugging in/out the jack, or it cleared up by itself with no clear cause. Usually after a reset.

But I'm really hoping the Reset All Settings does the job.

I was hoping reset all would work as well.Saddly no luck.
My head phone plug appears clear The headphone signal only comes on when they are plugged in.
thanks twitter poet for your sound advice.
I guess. It' s to the apple store for me.My apple store closed up shop so I'll have to find a new one.

oh some good news...My sweety just said that my regular apple store opened in a new location:)

Ok. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Please let us know how it goes with the Apple Store. Be sure to make a genius appointment ahead of time to avoid waiting. Even my little local (90 miles away) Apple Store looks to be packed most days.

Edit:
And don't think I missed that horrible 'sound advice' pun. *grrrrr* ;)

Just finished re-arranging all my Home Screens, apps, and folders on the iPad.

Unless this sounds like fun, do not under any circumstances go to Settings > General > Restrictions and turn off all apps under Allow Content. When you turn it back on the only folders that will survive are those that contain native apps, and the only apps in those few folders will be those native apps. It's a quick way to go from four Home Screens to about 12, in my case.

I was experimenting, trying to duplicate a problem posted elsewhere on the forum.

I might have been able to recover using a backup, but, well, instead I took it as an opportunity to organize again. So it's not all bad. I didn't really need that hour for anything important. ;)
