I hope I didn't offend you. I supposed you were sleeping, because your dot was red for a few hours in a row.
Certainly not, there's no need to apologize.

It seems to me you're having difficulties getting used to sleeping at night.
A little. By the time I'm used to sleeping at night the vacation will be over and it'll be back to the night shift.![]()
Noticing it's time to say goodnight. :-(
We loved Yosemite and wished we had had more time there......it is just so scenic and the trees are magnificent!
Oh yes....that is so true, we are but nothing!
Hubby took an air tour with our 2 eldest......the pilot counted down to the rim and the earth just fell away! He was amazed by it all.
I don't like helicopters much and as our youngest didn't want to go, I chose to stay behind with her.
I would recommend the drive....you take in the Hoover dam which is really something to see but the landscape is just huge and absolutely stunning.
I would love to return!![]()
I really like going to all those western parks. I do take a simple digital camera with a good zoom and have taken some pictures I'm proud of. I agree that they don't capture the vastness of the landscape views, but nothing does. My sunset photos do remind me of what I saw at the Grand Canyon. My working cowboys, on horses, was taken on a long off-road trip. The best pictures are of flowers and wildlife.
I would love to take some time to just explore the whole region......we all took many photos trying to capture it all, great photos but I agree nothing can capture the vastness!
A thrill for me was to see tumble weeds.....I'd only seen them in movies and was just fascinated by them.![]()

So the weather was perfect at the Grand Canyon today. We stayed in Flagstaff overnite and drove about 1.5 hours to the canyon for sunrise. It was chilly but worth seeing, though I'd probably prefer to see sunset. We walked a bit of the South Rim while waiting for sunrise, and there were maybe two or three dozen other people doing likewise in our proximity. We saw a deer feeding about 15 feet down the slope from where we stood at one point.
On our way from hotel to the canyon, it was very dark because there was no moon, sun or lights. We saw three deer, including a huge one that we almost hit. That happens from time to time out there, I'm told.
We also had breakfast at the El Tovar hotel dining room, which I'd highly recommend. If you get there early enough, you can sit by the windows and have your meal with a view of the canyon.
Good night, see you in the morning.
