What's new

What are you guys doing right NOW??? ;)

Going to bed. I have a 2 pm Genius Bar appointment and its over an hour drive. I'm not a morning person, but I have to get up at least by 10. Yuck.

Do we post in German today? Would be easier for me. :-)
I'm fine, just a little nervous, as usual, before I start working. How are you?

Sehr gut, danke.

Ich habe ein bisschen Deutsche gelernt auf dem Gymnasium, aber ich habe viele vergessen.

That's already exhausted me, trying to remember.

You're doing well. :-)
That's more than some of our pupils know when they enter school.

My husband has been trying to learn Chinese for years. Every once in a while, someone compliments him on it, and he wails that he knows less than a young child, lol. Me, too, when it comes to German.

The Germans and Austrians I've come across generally have had very good English, though, yourself included.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for more of us to make use of the international forums? I'm sure the native speakers won't be too horrified at our efforts.

Well, we can bleed out together then. I've been frying my brains on and off in the French forum. I've been learning that language for 40 years and I'm still useless.

Sad that having some Austrian, Hungarian and a bit of German that I can't speak any of them

I'm catching up on iPF and getting ready to see how round 1 of the NFL draft went

Believe me: you do know more than a young child. :-)

The first foreign language we're learning here is English (mostly). I started when I was 11. Children now sometimes learn English in kindergarten, we teach it in primary school.
