There'll be more yet. Winter has barely started. We are still a long way away from ice road season.

It's never boring, especially when you have ice under all of your wheels and long grades to negotiate.

There's also a lot to learn. Ever heard of the Yukon Telegraph? Me neither, but I found out about it a few weeks ago. Haha. People moan because their Internet is slow. They have no idea.

I'm really glad for truckers, who help feed, clothe and shelter us all.

I'm a big fan of road trips, including cross-country ones, but I couldn't hack a lifestyle that put me on the road all the time.

No problem, Richard. I try to keep my eyes open these days. For too many years I traveled, and didn't make good use of my time. Now, I always have the phone ready to take photographs and I make sure I have time to do it, because any trip could be the last one.

One of my major regrets it that I spent a weekend in Italy kicking around an insignificant little village. The next village, about 5 miles down the road, was Assisi, and had I bothered looking at a map, I could have visited the cathedral there. Now, I never will, and neither will anyone else, because it was destroyed in an earthquake a few years ago.
