Aren't those birds Mallard ducks, not Canada Geese?

Yes, mallard ducks, but the small lake was covered with geese. ( and we had to watch where we walked.)

A lot of mallards were around but the geese were everywhere. And one more bird - a great blue heron.

I know what you mean about stepping carefully where geese have been. We have several thousand Canada geese which inhabit Wascana Center park in Regina every summer.
Great fall colours in your photo of the geese!
