Volume icon pops up at random

The volume icon in my iPad keeps popping up at random. Nothing seems to be wrong with the volume button at the side. Any ideas on how to stop the volume icon from popping up at random?

Maybe resetting your device will help: press and hold Home and Power button until the Apple logo appears, release both and let the iPad power up.

Another kind of reset that might solve your problem: reset all settings in Settings - General - Reset. This won't delete anything on your device. Afterwards you'll have to go through your settings and set them up again the way you prefer it.
