Updates won't download.

iPad2, running 6.1.3. I was downloading some updated apps from the iTunes Store, when I ran out of available space and two apps had not updated because of the lack of space. I deleted a video, leaving 728mb free, but now these two apps (Facebook Pages Manager and Pocket Informant Pro) won't download. I totally shut down the iPad, did a cold restart, (didn't work) and even up and force quit iTunes. They still are sitting there both at 0% downloaded.

Did I do something wrong? What can I do to fix this?

You're going to have to delete some more items from your iPad before the download will start.

I usually just leave behind 3.5 GB of space, really hard for me when I have a 16 GB ipad.......

Sometimes apps tend to lie about the amount of space they actually use. Delete more stuff.

The amount of storage required to install an app is greater than the amount of storage the installed app uses.

I ended up deleting the apps that wouldn't download. They came down fine after that, but I lost all of my data from those apps.

Ah, well.

Most of this space is used by system files and swap space deleting further files will help you download the updates.
