Two iPads - change identities

My wife and I each have an iPad. I want to switch identities...transfer my identity to her iPad and her identity to my iPad. How can I do that? If I just rename the iPads, will our apps and books be transferred?

Backup both iPads, restore them to original stage, then after restore yours to hers and backwards after you finish.

After backing them up in iTunes, and while in iTunes, select the Restore button on the screen. After some prompted input from you, wash iPad should have a "fresh" version of iOS 5.1.1 installed.

Then, when prompted by iTunes, elect to "restore from backup (versus as new). it's at this point you select the backup of the other iPad. iTunes will finish and your iPads will have changed identities.
