Turns On / Off By Itself

iPad will turn on at various times all by itself - stay on for a period of time then turn off. Annoying late at night and drains battery power unnecessarily. I've looked at various setting options but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Does the iPad go on randomly, i.e. for no reason, or does it show notifications?

Under normal circumstances, the only reason the iPad would turn on is, when an app sends you a notification. These can be configured under Settings->Notifications.

 

[The Alternative]

I agree. You've probably got push notifications on. If you have a lot of apps that enable push you could have a very busy iPad complete with sounds, alerts, and badges at all hours of the day and night.
