Hello and welcome to the forum -

This is an oft asked 'newbie' question w/o any guidance as to 'what' may be needed? Now, there are THOUSANDS of apps for the iPad, many free and many at nominal cost - please be MUCH more specific in the types of apps that you might desire.

For starters, checkout App Advise which discusses all sorts of apps; the site also has its own app for the iPad (go to the App store); look through the Apple App store - the apps are arranged in categories but the number in each may be daunting to the beginner - reviews are provided (some of which may be helpful, many not at all!). Also, check out some of the online computer magazine sites - the three I receive (one in the mail & two on the iPad via the Zinio app) are PC World, PC Mag, & iPhone - these publications often review apps for i devices and their comments may be available online for free; finally, visit a local bookstore where a number of 'summary' publications may be offered at nominal cost w/ numerous app reviews.
