Isn't this just beautiful. Never heard of this being done before. Apparently they do one every year. This years theme was Africa

Oh wow....thanks for that!

Just stunning and the intricacy of some of the patterns is amazing. Didn't realise they had raised areas also...just beautiful!!

Love this one

Those Brussels Flower Festival pictures are fabulous, Hayles.

We were thinking of visiting Holland to see the bulb fields. I think we will be adding the flower festival to our visits list.

There are lovely photos in today's papers of 2 gorilla brothers hugging, shaking hands etc after meeting again following a 3 year separation.

The family reunion took place at Longleat Safari Park. :) :)

The very first photo I spotted on opening today's first edition! Fabulous, both pics & story. Love the 9 yr. old's ginger haircut--exactly the same cool cut as that Brit gymnast!

Did wonder whether the staff had any doubts beforehand; as in, whether they would get on OK together, both being males. Did they just chance it or were they introduced first with a barrier between them to check? With those photos, always seem to end up wanting more info.

NB: We get all our papers on the iPad now after years of nearly drowning in paper. Miles cheaper money-wise & paper-wise but means we need to scrounge around for a sheet when it's shoe-cleaning time:)

Not only did I get the AVID tutor job, but when I went to fill out my employment paperwork, because I'm a licensed teacher, I'm an official district sub! And this is an amazing district. I hope this gives me am advantage next year.

I'll be honest here, I don't have a clue as to what any of it means but it sounds like its good news.......so, congratulations!

I think you will be good to go. once you get in the door, it's an easy hire for the district when there's an opening. Congrats on your surprise sub job! :)

I've been jobless since June so it is good news! AVID stands for Achievement Via Individual Determination. Basically it's a program for high schoolers that want to go to college but who are in the academic middle and need a little push. The cool thing about the program is the kids (or sometimes the parents) want to be in it.
