To apps in Canada have tax. I loaded up a 15 dollar card on my iPad. I bought asphault 6 which is on sale for 99 cents. I check my balance and I have $13.88. Do apps have taxes in Canada?

I think you need to check with iTunes. I've never been charged tax. I don't live in Canada but that amount is outrageously high. Must be a mistake surely.

I bought Monopoly HD, SimCity Deluxe HD and Scrabble HD on sale ($0.99 each), got charged around $3.29, I think. My address Apple has on file is Knoxville, TN.

In other news, I've reached 250 posts- I'm an iPad Master now, yay! :D

I pay tax on all apps I purchase. It's in my bills that apple sends to me. Doesn't everybody? I'm registered on the us store

Yes, but it's included in the 99p or cent price not added on top of that like the OP says

For instance I bought a song for 99p and got charged $1.06 when my bill came. This is the norm eh? Cos I always end up paying more than the listed price for music, books or apps.

Just read iTunes terms of sale and it says "We will charge tax only in states where digital goods are taxable" I guess digital goods are taxable in New Jersey.

I'm in Michigan, it seems I'm charged sales tax on apps (6%), but not on books. I haven't bought any songs lately, so I'm not sure on them (I'd have to search my receipts).

-Nope, no tax on songs.
