Syncing ipad mail

Is there a way to sync mail beyond the defaults that Apple gives us?

Like say 2 months or 6 months or a year?

I am a bit confused, here. I thought the Mail synced by the number of posts, not by time (it's the Calendar that syncs by time). For Mail, it's a matter of how many e-mails you want to show (Apple defaults for 50, 100, 200, 500 or 1,000).

So, I guess my question is - what are you trying to accomplish? Or, what isn't happening that you wish to happen?

The mail syncs to time. Like a day or week or month or unlimited. I wondered if I can have more control over the time instead of just the default options.

Go into settings, mail and click on an email account, go to mail to sync. It will give you the defaults.

This option seems to be just in the hotmail account, not yahoo or gmail.

I don't know about Yahoo. Gmail doesn't give you that option. It's just in Hotmail/Outlook. There are no other possibilities than the ones you see there.
