Check out MailWasher. It not only will delete spam, but even send the spammer an email that says your email address does not exist. You can set it so you see or don't see the spam before it's deleted.

You install MailWasher on your PC. It's not an iPad app or tweak.

I believe the OP was referring to a method similar to Mailwasher that would work on the IPad instead of a PC or Mac.

Personally don't know of any apps but I would be interested if there was one as it would come in handy.

The iPad is pretty much a mirror of an IMAP or an exchange account, or a download site for a POP account. There really are no filters to set up in the Mail app; it's mainly (and basically) for viewing e-mails. There's no real management of them.

Your best bet is to go the the web and create filters and such at the source (e.g. Gmail) or via your ISP. That way, spam will get stopped before it gets to the iPad.
