Does anyone know if there is such an item as a solar power charger for the IPad? Hopefully if there is I would assume it would also work for the IPhone .

Do a search for solar powered iPad charger and you will get several results. If it can charge an iPad it can certainly charge an iPhone.

There's an excellent solar charger out there for the iPad called the sCharger-12, it has plenty of power to charge any ipad including the iPad 3 and mini and of course iPhones and iPods.

sCharger-12 can fully charge (from 0% to 100%):

iPad 1 and 2: 3 – 5 hours
iPad 3: 6 – 9 hours
iPhones: 1.5 – 3 hours
