Has anyone come up with a way to change the background colour in a screenshot ( I mean the app. background behind any screenshot, not within the screenshot itself). My iPad Pro has the background as black and the pen selection set on the right-hand-side has black pens with a thin line to indicate colour selected... very hard to differentiate from the background. There must be a way to lighten the app background?

No way to actually change the background color that I know of. You can change the contrast of the palette background slightly using Settings > Appearance > Liquid Glass. Some of the options in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text also make a little difference. I like leaving Increase Contrast on.

Alternatively you could use a different app to edit your screenshots. Not as convenient, but lots of variety in tools and UI. I used to use Annotable before the current iPadOS tool kit was good enough to do most of what I wanted. It's more powerful, but less intuitive.

Thanks for your suggestions. I guess the convenience of the built-in iPad screenshot outweighs the alternatives, particularly having to come out of your current app, and starting new, etc.. I like to take a shot of the Sudoku in the on-line paper and then solve freehand rather than the formal app version also usually available. Same sometimes with the crossword though it gets messy. I'll stick with the iPad screenshot and keep muttering at the background (I am sure it used to be white in earlier versions, grumble, grumble!). Cheers.
