Screen rotation switch BACK!!!

Overnight my iPad 2 (iOS 6.1.2, no JB) reverted from the switched silent/non-silent function, back to the rotation lock/ non-lock function! Has there been some kind of auto OS mod/chnage that happened overnight without permission? Did my iPad get hit with a cosmic ray? Has some date/time expiration occurred? Has this happened to anyone else - ever?

It's a preference in Settings > General.
