Safari settings button disappeared from Safari NOT Safari icon disappeared from home

Hi. The icon/button to allow access to Safari settings, normally to the right of the search box at the top right of the Safari screen has disappeared. All searches for others with the same problem fail, because the Safari icon disappearing from the home page seems to be highly prevalent. This is not the problem I have. The home button disappeared at the same time.

Without it I'm unable to access any settings.

Any help appreciated.

You can access Safari settings in the Settings "app" (icon shaped like gears). About half way down on the left.
