Podcasts Through GM Audio System

I know this is a pretty specific question, but I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have an iPad 2 and a 2012 Chevy Equinox. Whne I plug my iPad into the car's usb port and select 'USB' as the source, I am able to view songs and play/pause/etc. through the car's main audio controls. Before the second to last upgrade, which brought the native podcast app, I wasn't able to view podcasts on the car audio controls. For a little while afterwards, I was able to view all of the podcasts that had uploaded. Now, none of the new ones are showing up. They show up on the iPad itself, but not through the car's system. There are two ways to access podcasts through the car's menu, and I can't find them either way. Can anyone help me with this?
