Ping a computer

Can you ping a computer with the iPad? How would you access the info you would see on a windows system the CMD?

Yes, you can ping other computers from an iPad. There are several apps at the AppStore. And the result of a ping or even traceroute command is displayed similar to the output of a ping command in a dos box or another console environment.
To find such apps just go to the AppStore and search for ping.
