Password problems

Hi everybody
I am a newby to computing and have just got an iPad 2. The problem I have is that the password that I use works OK on most things but it will not work with updates. When I try and update apps the relevant apps go dark then there is a long pause and the apps are not updated.
I hope that someone can understand my garbled description and offer a solution.
Thanks in advance.

How big are the apps and are you trying to update via WiFi or 3G (max size is 20 MB)?

Another potential issue is that the iPad often auto-capitalises the first letter of what it perceives to be the first word of a sentence. So lower-case passwords can sometimes, if you're not careful, inadvertently have their first letter set to upper case.

So, you can download apps? The password you use to purchase or download apps is the same as the one you setup for your iTunes account. If you are not getting the common first letter capitalisation problem that Tim has already mentioned, then check your password again. :)

I am aware of the capitalisation problem, and I deliberately set the first letter of the password to a capital.
If I try to use the password without a capital letter I get a box coming up saying that the password is wrong, but this does not happen when I use a capital letter.

So it appears as though the password is being accepted but the apps are simply not downloading? (I'm just trying to get this clear in my mind because, in your first post, I understood you were telling us that your password was not working when you tried to update your apps. But, from your description here, it appears as though the password is correct but that the problem lies elsewhere.)

Thanks for your input Tim. I am sorry if I did not make my problem clear, the apps download when I use the password, but the update will not work.
I must admit that I have sold a iPad 1 and bought an iPad 2 and I connected the iPad 2 to the same computer that I had synchronised the iPad 1 to. Is this the problem? If so how do I correct it.
Thanks again.
