The processor families used in all of the iPad models capable of running IOS6 do not have a known bootrom exploit, therefore the development of an untethered jailbreak for IOS6 these devices is a complex process requiring multiple userland exploits. Since there is no bootrom exploit, a tethered jailbreak will not be available for these devices as things stand. It is understood however that jailbreak developers are investigating decryption of the bootroms on all these devices ;)

The first public jailbreak for IOS6 (evasi0n) has taken 4 months and 2 weeks since the firmware was released by Apple. For reference, it took a period of 11 weeks following release of the iPad3 for it to be jailbroken on 5.1.1, and it took a period of just under 4 months following release of the iPad2 for it to be jailbroken on 4.3.3! Despite this being the longest wait for a jailbreak yet, it is still only slightly longer that the wait for the first iPad2 jailbreak ;)

It doesn't work with the iPhone 4S, iPads 2 of 3.

I think the site made an error when they listed the iPad 1 as a supported device.

The site exists to generate traffic and ad revenue, and they consistently post incorrect and lazy information in order to do this. It is one of the reasons we do not allow links to external blogs!

@nickb67 - Did you even read my first post? It clearly lays out the facts and explain why a tethered jailbreak will NOT be available. Please remember our rules. External links should not be posted to other iPad blogs etc. If you believe I or any other member has made a mistake (and none of us are above making mistakes) then you should politely challenge it, rather than posting contradictory information from an unreliable source. Thanks for your understanding.

That said, the first post is being updated with factual information as we speak... ;)
