Number missing from mail icon after OS upgrade

Before upgrading to v. 4.2.1 the mail icon displayed a number indicating the number of unopened emails in my inbox. Now there is no such indication. What's up?

That's odd. Not happening on mine. Did you try a re-boot?

My bad. Set email to "push" every 15 minutes. solved problem.
