Hey gang,

First off let me confess, I've never really been a fan of Apple products. Several years ago, a girlfriend (at the time) bought me an 8GB Ipod (which I still use). I get annoyed seeing people in business meetings or around showing off with their iPads. Last week, my girlfriend and I were in church and I noticed an iPad on her lap. I was so pissed at her. She came over to my house and I started playing with her 16GB iPad and seriously fell in love (with the iPad;)). Since then, I got bit by the ipad bug. Last night, I broke down and ordered an 32GB ipad. I can't wait to go over to the Apple store to pick it up.

Now, what are the best apps and accessories that I should get for my new addiction? I'm not sure how I'm going to use it but I assume mainly for movies and music. I'm in grad school and do a lot of writing but I don't know if it's Office compatible. I've already decided to purchase the clamcase. Weird, It takes 2 weeks to have it delivered from the manufacture but I can get it automatically from Amazon.

Anywy, I'm looking forward to enjoying the Ipad.

Thanks all!

Having logged all of one month with my New iPad, two apps I'm finding indispensable are Instapaper and Downcast.

Instapaper allows you to capture articles, webpages, etc. from nearly anywhere and stash them in one place for later reading. It's nice not to have to stop everything and read an article in real time when I can accumulate them in Instapaper instead and read them at my leisure. The procedure for putting Instapaper's button on the permanent taskbar is a little funky, but it works out OK. Instapaper is a real convenience and time-saver for me.

Downcast is an easy-to-use app for subscribing to podcasts. It gives you nice thumbnail descriptions of the podcast you're about to hear and allows you to add and delete 'casts easily.

Enjoy your new iPad. I am finding mine a real lifestyle enhancer.

I hate my iPad. Since buying it, I've had 2 or 3 hours sleep at the max. Lol. This thing is amazing.

I was really glad to read that you love your new iPad so much. I just bought the new one too. With the retina display. I am crazy about it.
I forget which apps they are but there are apps that make it compatible with Microsoft Office. Just type in Office in the search at the app store.
And I think you will see apps that make it possible to read Word documents.
Glad to read your posts. Keep them coming. I think as you continue to use the iPad it will reveal itself to you more and more.
