Yes , it looks like I'll be using my new iPad instead of my net book . Just learning the thing right now but the manual is decent so no problems so far. I will be using the cloud for file storage ( photo, video, documents etc.) and wondered what online file storage recommendations some of you might have for iPad/windows 7 pc use.

Thanks, this looks like a great forum and good bunch of folks.

Hi there Steve and welcome.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for both iOS 4 and 5.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/

A lot of people here use the online storage "Dropbox." The app is free in the App Store and you can sign up for a free Dropbox account (you get 2GB of free storage ... have to pay an annual fee for more storage). You download a small program from Dropbox onto your PC, which makes access to your Dropbox just like opening a folder in Windows Explorer. You can drag and drop files all day long, with the only limits the actual time it takes to upload the file. In addition, you can use any computer to access your Dropbox account on the web, so you're not tied to just using it on your home system.

I use Dropbox and it works great with my Windows 7 computer and my iDevices.

Can you tell I really, really like this online service? :)

Welcome. I prefer box to dropbox because you get 5 GB of Storage rather than 2 GB of storage. Also, it is just as easy to use and there is an app available.
