New Battery behaving strange

I have an iPad Air 2 which was not charging - completely unresponsive. I decided to replace the battery.
The new battery is charging and reporting 100% after just less than an hour.
When watching you tube and browsing the internet I get about 3 hours of life out of the device.
Yesterday I left the iPad on charge for about another hour after it was reporting 100%.
This morning it has tracked down to 8% and got stuck there. I have been playing a film for the last 2 hours and it is still stuck at 8%.

To me is looks like there is something wrong with either the battery calibration or a problem with how the battery is measured.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Using iOS 13.3.1

Welcome to iPad Forums!

Try force starting the iPad: press and hold Home and Power button until you see the Apple logo, then let go of both. Your device will power up on it’s own.

A method to recalibrate the battery meter would be to charge the iPad completely and let it drain until it turns off by itself, then charge it again.
