Are there any reliable texting apps for the iPad that work with all my contacts?

There are, though I don't use any, and can't remember any of the app names.

How about Seeing if you can answer this question. How I make my iPad to stop using my email address is iCloud or me.com. I send messages to people using my Gmail account and never get any response, then this morning I happened to click on the mail icon app and find several messages I never seen before. In looking closer I see all the responses came back to my name and me.com or iCloud.com email addresses which I have never intentionally tried to use. Can you tell me how to turn them off or make them stop working?
