Music File Format on New iPad Garageband

Hello All

Just joined so I hope someone can help me with my question.

First of all I must say I do not have anything Apple at all.

My Daughter has an iPhone,but I am not allowed near it,neither is anyone else.

I am into music and have a PC which I use for recording my guitar into,playing the melody
to pre recorded backing tracks.

I am very interested in Garage Band,but I was wondering if it was worth me getting an iPad
just for Garageband,and would I be able to write my own backings,and then import them
into my PC for processing?

The file would need to be either MP3 or Wave.

Is the quality of Garagebands instruments good enough for what I want to do?
