Mass delete music?

So I've decided that since all of my music is on my phone already, I don't need it taking up the space on my iPad. Is there a way to delete all of it at once as opposed to every single song?

With your iPad connected to your computer, go to iTunes and uncheck the "sync music" under you iPad settings.

Yeah, that also deleted every book I had on there also. Thanks...

should not have deleted the books..you must have checked some other button?? not acusing you of anything just trying to find what happened so it will not happen to next person
