Many App Icons Background Gone

First day with new iPad Air 2. Content restored from iTunes. All was okay until tonight when I opened up and discovered many of my app icons background had disappeared. In the backgrounds place is either a white icon with lines or just solid white. ISO 8

Very dissapointed. How do I correct this issue?

Turn off Passcode Lock, restart your iPad and turn on the Passcode Lock again. They should be back to normal afterwards.

Those aren't actually app icons, btw. They are the Safari shortcuts that you saved to the home screen. What's happened is they've lost the icon data from the website, and are having trouble reloading it.
