LOVEFiLM Brings Streaming Movies to the iPad in the UK

Streaming video and DVD and BlueRay rental service LOVEFiLM is available in the UK on virtually every medium you can think of, including PCs and games consoles, but until now it hasn’t been available as a streaming service on the iPad, only as an app that helps you manage your subscription and movie list. That all changes today though, with the arrival of LOVEFiLM’s movie streaming app for iPad and iPad 2. The app enables LOVEFiLM members to control their mobile viewing with the ability to pause, fast-forward and rewind their movie stream while also being able to view trailers and add to their DVD rental list on the go.

Wherever LOVEFiLM members are, at home or out and about, as long as they have access to a Wi-Fi connection they’ll be able to instantly watch blockbuster movies such as The Chronicles of Narnia and The Wrestler. And from tomorrow, September 30, iPad users will also have exclusive streaming access to titles such as The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and RED starring Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren.

Simon Calver, CEO of LOVEFiLM, says “In the process of making our service more portable than ever before, LOVEFiLM on iPad is the latest exciting step in giving film fans total control over their viewing schedule and our commitment to expanding the ways in which members can stream movies on a range of devices.â€

All that LOVEFiLM members have to do to get streaming top movies on their iPads is link their existing account with the iPad (provided that they are on a package of £5.99 and over), and then download the free LOVEFiLM Player for iPad from the app store, here: LOVEFiLM Player for iPad for iPad on the iTunes App Store
