Yes I did and I am so disturbed as they are my course notes

I'm afraid that unless your notes were backed up somewhere, they are lost. There is no trash bin on an iPad where you can go to recover recently deleted items before they're overwritten. In the future you should use something like iCloud to back up important notes and data as these are not saved during a regular backup.
