why does spacebar disappear sometimes?

I can't say this is something I have ever seen, it might be worth telling us which iPad, which version of iOS and if all or specific apps are affected and finally, are you jailbroken?

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

The keyboard is context sensitive, so its function can change depending on where exactly you are using it, so for example typing a url in safari, no spacebar (beacuse your not allowed spaces in urls), but you get a .com button instead plus easy access to : / _ -
