In a heartbeat! Although I would pay the premium for a 128GB. 64GB 3G iPad for me and I am still running out of room...

Other than that, this device literally has replaced my desktop/laptop for my daily computing needs!

Probably not. The gadget is great, but the restrictions placed on it are a pain. I don't like to be in a situation where someone denies me things 'in my own interest' or so I'm led to believe. I like to tinker & make my own mistakes.

I love this thing!!! Wouldn't trade it for anything else, except maybe the iPad 2..hehe. I bought a 16 gb wifi model. It's the cheapest one here in Germany, I went in the store wanting to buy a psp but then saw the iPad and I was hooked. I think it would've been nice if I'd bought a 32 gb 3G, but the european prices are steep as their roads. Haha. But it's fine I just surf the web a lot and have bout 400 songs, 50-60 apps, couple vids. I still have bout 7 gigs left. I think if u can manage your device properly then even the cheapest 16gb should be enough.

Good iPaddin :ipad-keyboard:

I pretty much knew what it could and could not do when I got it. Which is why I told my wife I did not want one. but she got me one anyhow. I have to say, I do enjoy it. But it is still not worth 800 bucks to me. If they sold for 200 I would buy two...one for home and one for work.

The nicest thing is typing on the almost full size keyboard (compared to typing on my Droid). But honestly, it doesn't do anything my phone doesn't do so I really did not need this thing. Still going to like it though. Lol

I got the 32gb 3G, and love it! No regrets. I would buy it again if I had to (knock on wood -a little pricey). Unless ipad2 can do things that no one has guessed yet, I'll stay put :)

Its all speculation and media hype. Apple will still have the market at the end of the day.

At the end of what day?

Android phones are overtaking iPhone sales. Soon the same will happen with tablets.

its due to AT&T's shitty network. Verizon will change that when the Iphone comes to verizon.

I made my purchase knowing that the iPad 1.0 was a bleeding edge device in a new category. Having said that I do like it very much and I enjoy discovering new ways of doing things with it.

However, as I have said before, I DON'T like the Walled Garden mentality. I think that it is an iPod legacy that has no place in the tablet world.

That fact that you can't simply copy files to and from the iPad using a File Manager is just ridiculous as per...

"Another factor was the openness of the Android system; users could connect their Android phone to a computer and drag-and-drop files from one to the other. This was in contrast to Apple's more closed iOS operating system."

from Android's spectacular rise and rise: smartphones | The Australian.

If this issue hasn't been addressed by the time I am looking to replace my iPad, I will probably not be buying another one. I will opt for whichever out of Andriod, Wndows etc looks the best at the time.

The iPod legacy may not have a place in the tablet world but barely a year ago there was virtually NO tablet world. Everybody was waiting for someone to break the ice in the direction that the ebook reader had been pointing for a few years now. I'm pretty positive that the iPad is NOT Apple's tablet and that we'll see one soon following the steps of the MacBook Air. Yes, the iPad is a big iPod and we are just asking too much out of it for now...

I do wonder, at times, whether I would have been happier with the MacBook Air. There are probably two things against it, price and (I think battery) life. Perhaps a Mac OS device in the same price range as the iPad and with good battery life will emerge, I just wonder how Apple would position it in relation to the iPad.

The other major thing for me is Flash. The only reason that I care about it is that I keep finding web sites, that I need to access, that use it (and they aren't porn or games sites). Apple's opposition to Flash isn't confined to the iPad, as I understand it. I am not trying ro reignite the Flash debate here by the way.

Fix those two things, and I would be completely happy with the iPad. FileBrowser and GoodReader come close to solving the File Manager issue by the way.
