Kids mode for iPad 1?

Hello all,

I have an old iPad 1 3G 64GB model running iOS 5.1.1. Is there a "kids mode" of sorts that I can use to lock out most of the iPad except for a few kids apps that I allow?

There's no such method, at least on a stock iPad. You could get rid of all apps except the kids apps you want them to use. You could go into Settings>General>Restrictions and turn off Safari, iTunes, and installing and deleting apps. This will stop the kids from surfing on the Internet and buying apps or other iTunes content. You can also turn off In-App-App Purchases so they can't spend any money in the games they play.

BTW, make sure the kids do not know the restrictions password or your Apple ID password. That way they can't change anything in the restrictions section or do a factory restore.
