The two are physically next to each other. both devices appear to have Find My turned on and ready. iPad Pro Finds the iPhone; iPhone sez no location found for iPad; iPad appears in the iPhone’s list of Devices.

I’d appreciate if anyone could share clues as to how to help the iPhone find the iPad.

Thank you!

Location
Milton-Freewater, OR
1) Location can be provided though the internet. It needs both devices to know where they are, and have an internet connection.

2) Location can be provided through Bluetooth. It requires close proximity, both devices being updated to iOS/iPadOS 15, and the features enabled. (This might have been partially functional on iOS/iPadOS 14, but I’m not sure.)

3) More complicated method combining Bluetooth, Internet, and a bunch of security safeguards lets other people’s iOS devices report you device locations to you.

Sometimes it take a while before device locations update.
