Is it just me or has anyone experienced this. I upgraded to iPad 4. I backed up my iPad3 via iTunes (it takes about 12 hours to back up in the iCloud plus I had to buy more space). Then I plugged in my iPad 4 and did a restore from iTunes back up but about 5 minutes into restoration, it game me this error:

"iTunes could not restore the iPad ("name of my iPad") because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad that is being restored." What gives? Please help. I sold my iPad3 on eBay and I need to ship it ASAP but I want to make sure I get my data and settings back. Thanks.

It is quite unusual for your backup to get so large, (I'm assuming it was many GB is size of you had to buy more iCloud storage).
Unfortunately, restoring a really massive backup like that can be problematic, but it should still work.

What version of IOS was installed on the iPad3 and what is on the iPad4?
The iPad4 definitely has equal or greater storage capacity than your iPad3 did, yes? i.e. you are not trying to restore a huge backup that is bigger than the new device?
Given that so much data will have to be downloaded from the cloud, do you have a good reliable wifi connection, not being used for any other purpose during the restore operation?

Those are the first things I would look into. Good luck.

Why not attach the iPad to your computer and backup via iTunes to your hard drive?
You don't need to purchase more iCloud space and it would be infinitely faster.
