Ipad shuts down frequently

My IPad2 often shuts down while I'm working. Then I have to boot it up all over again. I used to think that maybe too many applications were open but it's not so, since even after I shut other applications the frequent and sudden shutdowns occur. Please help me find a solution to this. Thanks.

If closing other apps in the task bar does not help, then you should delete Safari history as well as data and cookies. If that doesn't help then a reset/reboot would be the next thing to try......hold the power/sleep button and the home button down at the same time and continue holding until the Apple logo appears. Let go and your iPad should restart although it may take longer than usual. See if that solves your problem. Sorry if you already knew how to do this. 8)

Thank you, Roy. I did try what you suggested. However, I still have the problem. I'm working on thE iPad and suddenly it goes off and starts to boot up again, by itself. I wonder if there's any other solution to this.
